VEHICLE
SEIZURE

s165

s165 RTA 1968 is the law that allows seizure of a motor vehicle for no insurance or no driving licence

this pdf is heavily jargonised so unless these terms make sense to you, it will be of no help

just remember, if during the course of your duties you encounter a driver who has no insurance, or no licence, it's a s165 case, get the motor SEIZED!

all PCSOs have a duty to get regular OST training, at least 12 hours a year, if you can get more then do so because sooner or later .... you will need it

Blogging

spin back to 2007 and how many site members were being challenged at work regarding what they had written on the forums?

well ok, so what? quite right! well sure until you see that Senior Officers are publishing books for MEGABUCKS . . . .. about what happened at work!

is this hypocrisy at a humungous level or just one rule for the troops and quite another for the SMT?

POWERS

NEW POWERS OF ARREST FOR 2006 - sensational new powers for Police (and citizens) were announced, around the same time it was decided that PCSOs should have STANDARD POWERS

interesting to see that the Home Office actually felt it necessary to issue "guides" to becoming a PCSO!

MIRROR

in May 2005 the Daily Mirror sent their undercover reporter to train as a recruit PCSO - he then reported CSOs crushed by low morale, frustrated at being given no power or protection and ignored by serving officers.

apart from the Daily Mirror's take on this undercover expose, our page reveals how national-pcsos members reacted, how the union responded, how the Commissioner responded and even the Mayor (of the day) Ken Livingstone jumps to the defence of PCSOs, it's a historic archive for sure

(2006)

national-PCSOs
TOP 100 members

one of the great features of this 2006 TOP 100 is the 2005 column

if you notice, the chart shows the TOP 100 members but pay attention to the 2005 column, it shows where that member was in the 2005 chart!

really this would only be of interest to veteran members but a great archive page, no doubt about it

ARCHIVED INTERVIEW

the first "interview" of any national-pcsos member occurred on Sunday 12th March 2006

sueb

2006 interview

sueb was a counsellor for us on the site during 2006

falkor: when you look at the members on our site, you're one of the youngest members, we have quite a few double that age, me included!!
falkor: so you have your whole life ahead of you, any ambitions?
sueb: well I want to be in the police force and in the dog section really
falkor: have you got any dogs of your own Sue?
sueb: did have 2, a lovely black labrador and an alsation
falkor: what happened to them then?
sueb: the alsation had to be put down and the labrador died
falkor: that's terrible, you must be very sad about that
sueb: I am but it was a little while ago now
falkor: what's the pay like as a PCSO? is it a lot more than when you were in security?
sueb: a heck of a lot more

an A4 poster.doc to put up in your nick, canteen - also available in PDF

it is quite sad to know just how many PCSOs do not know that we are here, no one has told them!

please help by printing this poster out :-)

back in 2005 - many of our (PCSO) members were being tasked with getting statements from store detectives, managers, staff who had witnessed shoplifters

here is a great aide memoire, supplied by a senior member on the site (2005) to help such PCSOs

if you think this is of help to any PCSOs now, please do print it out

THREAD

Thread of the week came to an end in 2007

It was a good idea, provided members could be bothered to nominate a decent thread

nice to look back on now to see just what we were talk about back in 07

ASSOCIATE FORUMS

forums

UFO FORUMS launched in 2009 for those who have witnessed a UFO first hand to add their testimony to our site

ASSOCIATE FORUMS

THE CEO
FORUMS

"Parking Zone" launched in 2008 for UK Traffic Wardens and CEOs

Many CEOs simply refuse to add their input to the forums but are more than happy to have a read of what others have contributed

this has led to these forums stagnating into a slow motion receptacle containing older and older threads

we urgently need traffic wardens who are actually prepared to "speak out"

national-pcsos
CLOSE DOWN

on the 18 February 2008, exactly 4 years on from the start of the site - things came to a head

a new site "PCSO.com" was launched to take the forums operation that had muddled along - sometimes in slow motion, for 4 years

but why was this necesary? what had happened?

OLD OLD FORUMS

The old forums ran for four years from 2004 - 2008

there is now a real problem accessing the old forums - which is why there is warning line "DO NOT CLICK THE BELOW LINK" simply because of practical difficulties

if you have a LOG IN then hit the link to the left, as you log in CLICK "Log me on automatically each visit" this will prevent you being redirected back to the FORUMS MENU page

POWERS OF
ARREST QUIZ

2006 PCSO QUIZ aimed at those who are interested in powers of arrest "PCSO STYLE"

Do PCSOs have powers of arrest?

Well PCSOs do not have specific "PCSO ARREST POWERS," no but there is no reason why they cannot use "citizen arrest" powers

Do citizens have arrest powers? Er yes they do! but you need to know the details!

FORUM RANKS
phpBB2 set up (to 2008)

This page shows the forum ranks and images that were applied across three separate templates, subSilver, solaris and subMerged up to 2008

there were more than 3 templates but the system was simply fitted onto the remainding templates, 1 of those 3 would suit all the others and did admirably

this page was actually added to the HATO site in 2007 but in fact was copied there from national-pcsos!

TEMPLATES
phpBB3 2010

check out the 2010 templates in phpBB3

spinning back to 2008, we were actually in fantasy land with the advent of phpBB3. Let's face it, the forums are the driving force of the site, it is the "voice" of the site possibly, but with a brand new forums software, all the "new" styles were mighty tempting

little did we think then that just a couple of years later, styles would be abandoned and set aside like an unwanted toy, leaving us with styles that no longer operated! Check out this page to see what an awesome line up we had, the 2008 - 2010 choice
