Re: Dash Cams

I've got a Monkon GW1-C dash cam, capacitor version (needs to be plugged in all the time) with a 32Gb card. Plugs into the cig lighter, and because I have a newish fiesta it was fairly easy to remove the plastic trim around the window and hide the wires. Camera sits behind my wing mirror and records...

Re: upgrading from Windows7/ 8 to 10

I have upgraded from 7 to 10. 10 is brilliant. Noticeably faster, takes up loads less space on my drive. Not had a single issue/crash in a month. 100% recommend.

Re: Joint Enterprise? is it justice? should it be cancelled?

If a serious crime is committed and you're there, you are either in the dock with them or in the witness stand putting them away. That is how justice is done. These lads weren't in the wrong place at the wrong time, they were jointly involved in the deaths of other people, its great the mothers are ...

Re: What type of equipment do you take out with you?

Big Brother, Is the gaffer tape because you don't have handcuffs? :D It's actually really useful stuff to have with you. Whenever I've come across a junction box that has been forced open, or for use in first aid if you don't have enough bandages. The victims coat strapped on with a load of gaffer ...

Re: school Crossing patrols under threat?

Ridiculous, and a pathetic attempt to save not very much money. She'll be on no more than £7 an hour, 2 hours a day. Even if she worked 5 days a week, every week and through the school holidays she would earn no more than £3640. The true figure is going to be significantly less. That said, can't the...

Re: School parking patrols told to stop Broke Hall campaign

If the Sgts saw this as any kind of priority they could direct PCSOs to the schools where this is happening and even go with them to see the extent of the problem It isn't a problem though, not in the grand scheme of things, not when your sgt is worrying about how to deploy staff to deal with the s...

Re: School parking patrols told to stop Broke Hall campaign

It's the same all over the country. We've just been given the power to issue FPNs for parking in a restricted area outside a school, so we'll see if it makes a difference.

Re: Boots (again!)

I bought some Karimor black walking boots. Very comfortable, they can be resoled and they seem to be very hardwearing and they are waterproof. £45 from Sports direct, I was amazed.
We all wear them at work and nobody has had a bad pair.

Re: Law question on ASB, Crime and Policing Act 2014

It's worth checking the old law to see if it has been repealed. If it has, then no you cannot enforce it any longer. If it hasn't been repealed then it can still be enforced.
I seem to think it hasn't been repealed, but it'll need checking on PNLD.
