Hands-free cycling kit

Post by Morley » Mon Sep 08, 2008 9:27 am

Hopefully most of you have stopped laughing at this stage. Anyway, I've heard a rumour that there are some hands free kits out there. Are there any police cyclists that use them? Are they any good? It can be quite challenging avoiding traffic and potholes one-handed despite the training course we were sent on! It's not always convenient to pull over especially if you're following someone.

I've never heard of a hands free cycling kit, but i could think of an improvisation.

The earpiece i use at work is PTT, but the button to activate it is on a second wire which you pull down your sleeve, it then velcros to one of your fingers and you can use it using just your thumb and finger. I got it from ebay. =)

I think our radios used to be like that, but now everything is incorporated into the radio set itself. But you've given me an idea. I can cycle with a long stick in my mouth and just nod towards the button when I need to speak.

I realise this is a really old topic, however i've only just joined the site and found it whilst looking around, the kit you are looking for is a Breeze headset, made by Lowe Electronics, it's an earpiece with a boom mike, and a wireless PTT button that will velcro onto your handlebar.
Hope this helps.
