cleaning of uniform (MET Pcsos)

Post by ScaredMETpcso » Tue Feb 22, 2011 10:38 pm

Did you know you are entitled to tax reduction for cleaning of uniform?

Some one at a recent union meeting mentioned it and after some looking into it me and colleagues decided to phone h m revenue and yes it is true pre 2007 you should of got £45 tax reductions a year and after 2008 this increased to £60....

on your pay slips bottom right corner there is a 0845 number for tax enquires

give it a call and enquire, mention the words 'tax entitlement to cleaning service of uniform' and from there they will tell you to send in a letter with your national insurance number etc and there you go.

sorry if this has been discussed before or you all already know about it but I am excited about getting extra monies before the new tax year starts. (if you one of the first pcsos and didn't know about this you could end up with a nice sum of monies they owe you) get enquiring!!

PM me and I'll look out the form that Unison provides and pop you a copy.

Or perhaps Falkor can provide a way of uploading it?

Dear Sir or Madam

RE: Expenses Allowance

I have been employed at (Force), since (Date of Starting at Employment). I am provided with (#) uniforms bearing the Force logo, and I am obliged to launder the uniform, which is supplied to me by the Force as there are no laundry facilities available to me.

I therefore wish to claim an expenses allowance of £60 for each year since the above date.

Yours Faithfully

yes he said as of April I will pay less tax but he also said that for the time length I have worked they will give me the extra taxes I have paid i've been working 3 years now so as I understand it £45 + £60 + £60 = £165, so they won't give me that even though I am entitled to it?

anyone else that has claimed have you actually recieved money or just had your taxes lowered?
