The things members of the public say

Post by jay1 » Fri Oct 29, 2010 12:39 pm

O.k we've all had things said to us that make us want to Laugh, cry or pull our hair out so for some light relief how about we put some here...

I'll start

Last Wednesday night i was on patrol with a new PCSO who can't drive so i'm taking him around( I know i prefer to walk but i have 9 villages and the furthest is 45 mins from the station)
We were in a famous and popular area and we met a couple the lady said to us oh hello it's lovely that this town has two PCSO's to look after it.. When i explained that between us we covered nearly 20 villages she was shocked and said

"We Live in a little Village in East Sussex and we have six PCSO'S just for us but then we are RICH"
I chose not to comment and wished her a good evening..

Just thought i'd share that with you and maybe you're one of the six PCSO'S :slsp:

Sweet............What I find nice is a comment that I once received from one of my elderly residents, she said 'People who know no different do not understand how reassuring it is for us,just to see you walk past our window,it makes us feel safe and it is very comforting just to see a Police uniform in the area'.

They know us,they trust us.......Funny thing is,we do confidence surveys roughly every few months, one of the questions which is in 2 parts, is (a) how often do you see a PCSO , (b) How often do you see a PC.

You already know what the answer is.....:)

I had a guy come up to me last night whilst I was out and remark that he sincerely hopes we stay in our roles over the coming months. He has seen the difference we've made over the years and thinks getting rid of us would be a short sighted disaster!
Big brother is watching you.

(off duty so kinda don't count but hey..)

I was getting my hair cut a few days ago, the guy was talking about all the cuts and a PCSO walked past the window.

You know what the first thing was that came out his mouth :P

"For starters they should get rid of those community policemen, waste of space, all they do is walk around and talk to people".

HAHAHA

Getting told to sack them for doing what people want them to do but say they never see, typical British arrogance from the underclass.

Had quite a few come up recently and say like that they hope we stay and that we do a good job and that, is nice to hear.

Kids come out with the best though. Last week after I gave a "staying safe on bonfire night" talk to a school holiday club thing, I asked if any of the kids had any questions. One girl puts her hand up and says just simply...

"Pink and purple"

So im like... ok.... thinking is that a nickname she's given to me and my colleague or something??!

But, it was colours of fireworks...

New favourite, straight out of the mouth of a small boy who had been part of a school talk audience....

'If you were in Canada and got attacked by a bear, what would you do?'
